Biafra: How Saraki saved Buhari from being embarrassed by IPOB – Northern Elders

Northern elders under the aegis, Northern Elders’ Forum (NEF), have claimed that the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, saved President Muhammadu Buhari from being embarrassed in court by the secessionist group, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), over its proscription and categorisation as a terrorist group by the Nigerian government. Barely 24 hours after the Nigerian Army pronounced IPOB a terrorist organisation, Saraki came out to condemn the decision and labelled it unconstitutional. The Senate President stated that only the National Assembly, had the right to such pronouncement. The Northern Elders have now said that there is no cause for alarm in what Saraki said. fake doctor infects 6-yr-old boy with HIV in Nasarawa State

A false medical doctor, who infected a six-year old boy with HIV by injecting unscreened blood into him, has been detained by Nasarawa State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC).

The state Commandant, Bashir-Kano, revealed this yesterday while talking with newsmen in Lafia. Bashir-Kano identified the defendant as a 30-year old Jonathan Ibrahim.He said an investigation into the case led to the discovery that the defendant and his wife are both HIV positive.

Bashir-Kano said: "As we speak, the defendant has already been remanded at the Lafia prisons following his arraignment at the Upper Area Court in Doma on Tuesday, Aug. 1."

He added that the command was fighting to see how it could assist the boy’s family to ameliorate his plight. He called on kind individuals to reach out to him through the command.

Wife And Her Lover Shoots Dead After Husband Find Them In A Romantic Position

Police in Zambia have arrested a 33-year-old man in Lusaka for allegedly shooting dead his wife together with her lover on suspicion of an illicit affair. Peter Siwale, a clearing agent of Lusaka's Mean Wood Phase 2 is said to have shot his wife Charity Namuko,30, together with another man identified as Andrew Chibesa,27, in front of his children after he found them in a romantic position. Confirming the ugly incident, Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo, told Lusaka Times, that the incident occurred on Thursday between 18:00 and 19:00 Hours in Mean wood. She said a preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect trailed the victims who are both teachers at a named school in Kaunda Square to some place in Mean wood using a friend’s motor vehicle where he saw them in a romantic state. On Thursday morning around 8:30am a woman was attacked by two armed robbery gang, after making a withdrawal at a zenith Bank branch located at Egbeda-Ikotun road.

According to the report the robbers, who specialize in motorbike robbery, snatched her handbag containing the money she withdraw.

Runs Girls Ask Government To Legalize Prostitution

Runs girls more commonly known as prostitutes have asked the Federal Government to legalize prostitution.

Ms.Amaka Enemo, national coordinator, National Sex Workers Association, has appealed to the Federal Government to de-criminalise sex work in Nigeria for effective control of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections.

Enemo made the appeal on Wednesday in Abuja while briefing newsmen at the inauguration of a new report on ‘Understanding the high risk of urban sexual networks in Nigeria.’

The national coordinator said that everybody is at risk of whatever he does, adding that sex workers faced a lot of violence especially from their clients, thugs and law enforcement agents.

She said that most of the times, police and other law enforcement agents exploit sex workers when they raid their brothels or streets where sex workers conduct their business.
